We would love you all to get to know ALPIE, our Alpine White E89 Z4.
The story begins two months ago, when Mike found him on the Approved Used BMW site advertised by a BMW garage in Farnborough. we got in touch with Elms in Cambourne, our local BMW dealer and struck a deal to trade in MONTY for this strikingly looking Alpine White E89 Z4. Having owned two dark coloured cars, we know how difficult it is to conceal the stone chips on the front of a Zed, so we thought if we bought a white one, that problem would be solved.
We waited six weeks.before we actually saw 'Alpie' in the Flesh, during which time we had a wonderful three weeks in Monty in France, putting another 2000 miles on his clock. He must of known something was a foot as he refused to start on the day we were due to leave and even put up a fight on the ferry by refusing yet again to move, very embarrassing as the ferry guys had to come with a starter pack to get us going, with all the other holidaymakers raring to go behind us!!! A friendly French BMW dealer put a new battery in for us and we were away again. The holiday and the anticipation of collecting Alpie was a good distraction for all our moving house problems at home!
When we returned from holiday we saw Alpie for the first time, even more stunning in the flesh than he was in the pictures! We were smitten all over again!
Now for the techy stuff
Alpie is a 28i M///Sport, with a 2 litre twin turbo engine and manual six speed gear box with black leather sports seats, idrive and cruise control.
Additional features are front & rear parking sensors (especially for short sighted oldies like Mike to park without affecting anything in close proximity) and head light washers.
Badman gee is going to help Mike polish Alpie, as all our polishes are in storage, meanwhile here some pics outside Mike's parents home to go on with.
We will soon see you all with Alpie, hopefully!!!
