OK a tall order I know. My mate Russ that some will have met at the midland meet is due on my cruise on Sunday. His on long term loan Merc SLK has thrown a dickie fit just before the event. Russ and his wife have been loaned the car from his brother in law as they've had a terrible year so thought it would be nice for them to get out in. Anyways getting to the point. The problem is:
All in one foul swoop the car has come up with:
ABS/ASR fault.
Roof has power but won't open.
Both rear brake lights have stopped working. (Centre brake light still works)
As said all the faults came at once.
Any advise greatly appreciated
Cheers all
Dave

Check the wiring to the rear at the roof joints etc. for damage Dave, it sounds like broken shorted wiring to me.

Its not an issue with a brake light switch is it as the bm requires the pedal to be pressed to operate the roof and the lights, the brake warning may be related to the lights not lighting.
This theory may be flawed in the 3rd light working but it depends i suppose on the complexity of the switch......

@Grumpy Wheeler Dealers did an SLK some time ago. Roof wasn't functioning. A new relay plug was fitted and the main pump (right hand side of the boot as you face the rear) was changed and all was good. Don't know about the rest, sorry.
