Good day everyone. I have a '98 M Roadster in Arctic Silver. I managed to find a black luggage rack, but don't have any of the hardware. I also have the OEM fitting suitcase for it.

So, i'm looking for two things. 1, either the hardward for the luggage rack (long shot, i know) or 2, a complete luggage rack with the mounting hardware.

If you know of an aftermarket kit of some sort i can source to mount the one i have, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

thanks in advance,
david

HI it might be a bit late, but I have a selection of hardware for the luggage rack. If you're interested, let me know & I'll take some photos of the bits & you can tell me what you need.

OK, I'll take photos of all the bits & send them over the next few days. You'll need to get some new neoprene washers for both sides so as not to damage your paintwork.

Just in case you haven't seen this one, maybe it's worth considering.

Here's the photos as promised. Just for ease of description: 1) Boot Rack wind-on clamps, 2) Nuts. 3) Washers. 4) Threaded collars. 5) Internal sleeve tube.
As you can see, the chrome on the collars has nearly disappeared !!! But that has save the steel underneath. I'd suggest removing the remaining chrome & then paint the collars to match the boot colour or re-chrome them. The black tube (5) is to create small spacers to go inside the collars. The clear plastic tubes are the old spacers to use as a guide. Hope they are of some help.

I forgot to mention that I don't have the blanking plugs for when you remove the rack. You'll also have make yourself a restraining strap from some 10mm webbing.
