4D has time as the extra dimension. If the car had it fitted, he could have passed through that glass window without damaging it.

Seems perfectly reasonable behaviour to me, but then again I do have some strange friends.

I nearly lost it with my local Audi dealer recently, although I stopped short of driving through their front window.

When I first got my Audi I went in and reported two issues to which they acknowledged them and said :-

Issue 1. We are aware and will do a software update soon to rectify that.

Issue 2. Yes, parts currently unavailable and are now on back order.

Move on to one year later I now get from them "these are both characteristics of the car sir"

Short of driving through their front window, or trying to reject the car, I could do nothing.

Main dealers really do make you feel a bit cross sometimes.

My 3GT was in for a service on Wed. I told them there was likely to be a problem with a worn locking wheel nut even though it’s only 12 months olds.

Nothing said about it when I pick it up. Although they give you an online link to check what they did before you even pick it up and I saw a complete set of locking wheel nuts had been ordered. But service desk knew nothing about it.

Yesterday I noticed they had taken the bolt out and not replaced it with anything! I’ve been driving round on 4 nuts (an MOT fail so clearly not safe) and no protection against theft for what is probably £800+ of wheel and tyre.

Went in to complain. They couldn’t give a sh*t. And just told me even when the bolts arrive they’ve got no slots in the workshop for 2 weeks to fit them.

So I told them I wanted a regular bolt to fit myself before leaving. Which they did give me.

Dick Lovett of Swindon if you’re wondering as they need naming and shaming.

I’m really not surprised to see a car driven through a window. Crazy, criminal and probably with a lot of comeback. But not remotely surprised.

Just goes to show they are employing people with no training.

A service adviser should have at least some idea.

I would have asked to speak to the Service Manager directly and tell those on the desk it only goes up from there. Allowing any car the leave in an unroadworthy condition when it arrived in good order is negligent. Use words like that out front will have you invited to discuss the issue in a back office very quickly indeed.

Point out that if you or I compromised anyone’s safety it would dismissal for gross negligence. Not caring is also failure to understand the gravity of the situation or their obligations. Then asking you to come back weeks later is criminally negligent. I’d expect the Dealer Principal to be in front of me by then. This is now not just an unforgivable error but a matter of trust.

Go back in and restate your point carefully without getting upset. If they can’t get wheel nuts right, what can you trust them to do. The least you should get is an apology.
