Not car related but this actually happened to me today and those of your who met my son will find this extra funny as Youve what a cheeky little sod he can be!
What follows is a verbatim transcript of conversation I had with my 6 year old son, and I think there's a lesson to be learned by all of us:
Lewis (returning from the toilet in the middle of the day wearing just his pants and holding a small plastic toy:
"Daddy, I've got something to ask you"
Me: "what are you doing? Where are your clothes?"
Lewis: "in the bathroom, but"
Me: "But nothing....I'm not listening to you until you have some clothes on...and give me that (snatching small toy from his hand)"
Lewis: "But daddy"
Me: "CLOTHES....NOW!"
Lewis: "it's important..."
Me: "NOW!!!....."
5 mins later and he returns dressed and I'm still holding the toy ready to give it back....
Me: "Now, what did you want to ask son?"
Lewis: "well....I was having a pooh and dropped that in (points to toy in my sweaty hand)....and I wanted to know if it has to be thrown away?"
Me: "............erm.........."(drops somewhat soiled toy).
Folks, when your kid says something is important, it might be!
