Put a dehumidifier in the zed last week
Now has this white residue over the seat .
Is this normal ? wipes off easy enough but could it do damage if left long ?

Only thing I can think it may be is the dehumidifier has pulled the moisture out the seats up to the surface. It may have dried the leather out which in turn may cause it to crack. Hopefully not tho.

Sorry, typo....Mould, above is US spelling, used to get it in mine and just wiped it off.
Never had any in mine. I bought 100 sachets of silicone gel of eBay for a couple of quid and just sit them in the seats and footwell over winter.

I use the same dehumidifier and find it works well.
I haven't found and power mold on any surface.
When I'm driving during the winter I put the dehumidifier in the map pocket otherwise it sit between the seats pushed into the centre console.

I've had mould like that when the interior wasn't 100% dry and car was closed up in winter.
Mould likes the dark apparently so thrives under a cover.

To dry. It out I used a small fan heater placed in the car with the windows open a crack to let the air flow. Did that for a day or two.
Did go check on every hour though even though the heaters have a switch under them for this prurpose, so will switch off if not level.
As it was raining at the time I had the half cover on at the same time so water couldn't drop in but let the hot air out.
