I like to listen to the uk radio out here when pottering about so hook up the iPhone to the car stereo through a fm transmitter that I plug in the iPhone. It's not the best quality and a pain as I don't have anywhere nice to put the phone when driving as it lacks cubby holes.

Just spotted this while browsing for other options and wondered if anyone had seen/heard it. I'm not looking for high end audio, just something reasonable and better than the crackly fm transmitter.

Yes, I have one fitted to my zed :)

Works great, the iPhone is the whole control unit. You have access to all your music stored on the phone, including videos which play through the sound system too. Works great with the tomtom app also and mutes the music when directions are read out. You download the free radio app and have full control from the iPhone. It can be rotated so it's in portrait or landscape mode. Bluetooth works great and there is full handsfree functions and it charges the phone all the time. I'm very very impressed with mine.

Reminds me I need to get some pictures up of it in my journal.

Cool, nice to know someone who has one. I watched the video on the site and it looks really good. I like that it is very understated when the phone isn't attached and the extra removable item makes it look even more nondescript. I'll have to get saving for one :D

I meant to say I use an app called tunein radio which is what I would be using it for so listen to the radio throu the net. The sat nav is a bonus too and no extra items. Would be great if it had a reversing camera input too, not sure if it does.

How long have you had it and how are you finding it? I have been reading some of the reviews which aren't so favourable about the apps but I wouldn't be using the radio app anyway so not really a concern

Had it in since Christmas. Yes that's the only problem I find with it the radio app isn't the best and you have to have it open all the time for it too work. It doesn't support the background playing so if you want to open up anything else the radio stops.

But since you mentioned the tunein app I downloaded that last night to see of it would work and it did, plus it will still play in the background if you want to open anything else. I'm not too sure what the charges are for using this app as I presume it downloads the steam of your data allowance but if you use this app all the time and are happy with it then you will be fine to use it through the oxygen head unit. I will probably use the tunein app all the time now if I want to listen to the radio.

The tunein app is great and that's the only way I can get the radio here. I have an unlimited data allowance which they drop the connection sped after a certain point and even on the lowest it still streams fine. I haven't kept an eye on how much data it uses so worth having a look if you get charged for exceeding your allowance. The app also has a car function to change the display to make the buttons bigger so probably the best solution for me. Just need to see where I can get the cheapest one from, might have to wait until next year now as its going to be an expensive summer! :)

Do you have to use the case that comes with the head unit? If so do you use that all the time or swap it in and out.

Yeah I saw the car function in the app didn't try it though.

I have used both, but currently just have a plastic clear case on the iPhone which is fine and fits perfectly in the head unit. I think any slim plastic or metal case for the iPhone would work fine when pitting it into the head unit. The one that comes with the unit itself is also pretty good.
