Insuring whilst SORN'd

Hello All,

The insurance for my Z comes up for renewal at the end of this month, but this also coincides with when I'll SORN the car until Easter time . This time around, I don't want to pay for a fully comp insurance policy while the car is SORN'd and locked up.

The question is, does anyone know of an insurance company that has policy's for SORN'd vehicles?

I have had a phone around, but not found anyone who offers a policy like this, yet.

You should be able to get fire and theft cover with no road risk. Have you talked to Stacey @BMBabe.

We do a partial laid up cover policy
You tell us when you want your zed laid up and call us when she is coming out to play again and get a 25% return premium for the amount of days you have on laid up cover
You may even find our premium so good you keep it comp for the whole year

Just a quick note to follow up and complete this thread.

I finally got round to contacting Stacey yesterday, who found me a fully comp policy with some very good features at a good price, effectively making the partial lay up policy unnecessary. At least now the car will be fully insured, just in case we get an Indian summer and I feel the need to take the Z off SORN.
