I've had first hand experience of an incident like this. Had a crane tip over and fall into the sea during a load test. Crane driver jumped out just as the crane went over the edge of the quay. He suffered a broken leg but could have been much worse.

Can't divulge anymore info as the insurance claim still hasn't been settled nearly 4yrs on.

I didn't eat or sleep for a month. Easily the worst experience I've had since I've been on this earth

I have seen a crane jib snap... That was a scary moment and the 'bang' made windows rattle.

What was it that they were lifting, it looked like a flood gate or something. It didn't sit right with me that the cranes were both on one side of the barge/platform.

Very tricky manoeuvre on a barge. Let's hope everybody is ok.

Really it was predictable and they should have known better.

We once had a ship do an entire roll while unloading a full container because of the same stupid error! It is reported to still have mud up in the crow's nest! Hahaha.

Maybe because we are a very safety conscious society, but you could see the load was too great on the back of that floating barge and to swing a load that big on a boat is madness.
