Hi,
Just been reading an article on "classic world" about historic and modern classic cars being banned in certain parts of East London from July due to new low emission neighbourhoods. I wonder how long it will take to reach other cities and towns and will affect our Zeds as they get older.

Thankfully I don't live near a city but when it does come it will affect a few people

Very true...I enjoy mine driving the coastal and forest routes but for how longer before someone decides to tax us more or impose a levy. I know it wont happen overnight but there will be a day it will come

All ready in play for delivery trucks in Amsterdam, they have to be electric.
The drivers hate them, problems with getting up elevations etc.

I totally agree Paul but what if you own such a car and live in London?

Wait till 20 years time when all the cars we drive are super clean .

If Corbyn gets in even talking about Zs will be a capital offence.

Last chance to do a Thames Bridges 'n' Tunnels Run. Anybody up for it?

The OP is not strictly true. http://www.classicandsportscar.com/...s/classic-cars-win-exemption-from-london-ulez

Historic cars will be exempt. There is no definition of "classic". The Z3 is not "historic" as it was built less than 40 years ago.

As I skim read it, no cars will be banned, but they will be charge £12.50 365/24/7, AND £11.50 for the Congestion Zone (0700-1800 Mon - Fri).

I don't drive in London anyway, the place is horrible, so for me at least it's not going to be a hardship.

Why does nothing surprise me. I was in London today for work.. the crap from the buses and taxi's was horrid but worse still were the lycra eco warriors going through red lights when the people with legs are using the crossings.. Two very close calls.. If I had been closer my arm might have just lifted.. :ymdevil:

Also why does more stealth taxes spring to mind. If you can afford another car you should pay more to enjoy it.. blah blah blah...
