I have just had the MOT done this afternoon and at some point they had to disconnect the battery.

I have an original BMW Business CD radio and it's asking for the code.

I have gone through my documentation and cannot find the PIN number, I have a card marked Radiopass but not sure if the pin is on it. There is a 4 digit number, but I'm not sure if this is the PIN as it contains a 7 and there are only buttons 1-6 on the radio.

Also the on-board computer is off, does anyone know how to reset this, I don't want to play around with it just in case I do more harm than good.

OK radio code sorted, it was on the radiopass and it did contain a 7.

Now for the onboard computer

Yes, you are right.
The display was blank, but as soon as I pressed the arm on the steering wheel all the functions came back, all I had to do was set the clock.
I just wanted to make sure before I charged in pressing all the buttons and b******** it all up.

Yes, thank you.

It passed with just some minor repairs to one of the headlights.
They had to remove the headlight as the beam would not line up. turns out something had broken inside so they glued it back together to get it through.
Apparently they were quoted £500 for a new headlight from BMW. I thought at that price I might look into angel eyes.

Oh, and a advisory about break pipes.

Nice to hear the news!
Most of the cases, all issues concerning the Zed, have simple solutions.
During the time I noticed the genuine German cars have always simple solutions to aparently complicated failures, the French ones are totally opposite (simple brake down and complicated solutions) and the British ones are always very capricious, most of the time doing what they like, despite the driver's wish!
