Just saw this come up in my YouTube feed and its a really good demonstration of how to wet sand then polish your plastic headlights. Yes, it's a woman going through the process so try not to giggle like schoolboys when watching it... She makes the process look pretty straightforwards and got some great results doing it.

List of tools and products used under the video.

Saw edd China do this on wheeler stealers not long back, was impressed then and thought I'd do mine as they are quite bad, but as per all good intentions.......

huray another wheeler stealer fan, why does edd make it all look so easy though (no scuffed knuckles or rust in the eye, not funny the rust bit)

oh sorry i have gone off topic, back to it - i used some wire wool with great results once, needs to be 0000 though.
this was a genuine foot in it moment, and has no reference to an earlier post on here about off topic:(

What are people using to coat the lens after (I believe you need to get a UV coating liquid as comes with some of the kits).
From what I've read a lot of the kits don't give enough of the stuff so I would like to buy it separately (the Honda's lights are huge).

I've used sandpaper and metal polish with the drill and got them clear again but now need to coat them lens to stop it happening again so soon (I believe if you don't you'll have to polish again within 12 months).

Absolutely spot on Dino. A mate in Lincoln has recently bought a professional kit for doing this work and it contains some UV protection so I'm going over tomorrow to get the details.;) Will keep you posted. I use the Greygate polish but it's a yearly thing at best.

Tony.

I used the Maguires kit on my Fiat Coupes and old S-type Jaguar to good effect...and the Jaguar lights were in very poor shape

I used the 3M Headlight Restoration Kit in September 2012, it doesn't come with any UV protection. About £20 from Amazon.

The headlights have now been done for 3 years and still look as good as the day I did them.
