Would you think that is two bearings or one bearing from that description?

As the price was almost double the lowest seller's price, I'd assumed that was for left and right rather than left or right.

My mistake or should I ask for a refund?

It says left AND right. Furthermore it says ‘kit’. Of course it refers to two. Anything else would just be misleading advertising....

Thanks for that. The 'kit' bit though refers to the inclusion of a new nut and circlip. I was mislead though by 'left and right' and the price.

Just had exactly the same issue buying bumpstops and boots for the struts on my daughter's Peugeot 2008. Spent ages trying to work it out. No conclusion. Just had to order them and hope. Not arrived yet.

Cr*ppy, lazy descriptions from parts supermarkets. Unfortunately they are usually the cheapest.

I wouldn't mind if it was the cheapest Rob, but this one was almost twice the price of a supplier nearer to me. In your back yard actually - Glenmore Business Park.

Yep, know who that is. They’re okay. I buy a bit of stuff from them. I think they work under various trade names though. They have a store the shipping is done from called ADP.

I use FAG as they are the factory part. More expensive but I keep an eye out for when there are cheap ones on eBay and keep a pair on the shelf.

I ordered a pair of FAG bearings from KMSpartsonline via Ebay. After an exchange of emails confirming reg. no. & oem part nos., they informed me that they didn't actually have FAG and would it be OK to send me another make instead.... I cancelled that order on principle. ( I think from memory that's the third time I've ordered from kmspartsonline and be told that they don't have the item that I thought I'd just bought)

I'd cancel too. Though some of these big suppliers have some small writing in their listings saying this make or similar.

This has become a common practice with many online sellers, they advertise top brands (FAG) at a decent price then advise oh we’re out of stock and send a cheaper Replacement, many put small print comments saying an alternative may be sent as a replacement, what they actually mean is they’re sending you an alternative part so they make more money out of the unsuspecting customer.

I ordered two sets of FAG bearings (total of 4) from Car Spares Factors end of Feb. They supplied one set (2 bearings) they had in stock and contacted me to say they couldn't get the others as FAG themselves were out of stock having been cleaned out by someone. Refunded me. Never heard of this outfit so I researched them on Companies House and had good history trading since the 70's No substitutes Bearings were £23.17 plus vat total of £55.61. Seemed FAG were in short supply.
I ordered two bearings from SKF themselves who retail at £23 something plus about £4 per order post.. OE fitment I think. 2.8 and 1.9 face-lift were the same.
Guess I wanted names. Remember Absolutely Fab on t.v? - names darling, give me names!
Meyle will no doubt be excellent quality, P.M John (DakarZ3) and he will give you a good supplier oop North that will give discount. John is very helpful.
Hello Adrian,
thank you for your kind words £10 in the post ;),
car spares factors are a very good company with several branches in the Midlands area. Both SKF and also FAG are top Manufacturing brands, FAG are part of the Schaeffler group which also incorporate the brands INA and LUK, These are all OE assembly line fit parts suppliers So are top quality, you got a great price there Adrian!
