I have a decent sized single garage - standard width and length but 18ft at back - with an integrated mezzanine I built 7 or 8 years ago. At the same time I installed rubber interlocking mats to the floor, covering what was and still is a fully rough and dusty concrete base.

It's looking a little worse for wear now though, so I'd like to replace the flooring as easily and effectively as possible. What flooring recommendations do people have? The Mototile system looks pretty good, but I'm also thinking carpet tiles or something else.

Pictures of your creations also very welcome.

Hoover it , seal it ,fibre reinforced self levelling compound then under floor heating more of above self level then carpet so it’s warm and comfy when you’re laying in the floor fixing it !!

Mines carpeted, really like it as you can kneel comfortably and then hoover it when dirty

Carpeting sounds like a low hassle/low cost option. It doesn't really ever get wet in there, so would last a while I guess.

Sweep it clear of concrete dust and invest in a few tins of industrial floor paint, the type they use for warehouses that have to withstand constant forklift and lorries all day. A 5ltr tin is around £50 but you'll only do it once.

When it's dried properly just put some old carpet down if you want sleep in there, it's just like camping =))

Prior to the floor paint it needs sealing, I can not think of the name but it is actually made of eggshells. Brush it on , but keep brushing to stop it getting in the low areas, when dry then apply the floor sealant (paint)
Personally would not use carpet due to the mess I make on the floor

Floor paint works for me. Can't see the vacuum cleaner being released for activity in the garage, albeit that it's the most important room in the house.;)

So with floor paint you don't have issues with lifting paint under wheels that have been warm, then stood for a while?

I've never seen or heard of floor paint lifting once it's dried and cured properly.

Yes, have had some of that issue, think its when tyres are hot so can lift paint when sat in garage. That said, no big problem, easily touched in.:)
