Front brake hose replacement - stopping a slight fluid weep

Hi y'all - my 1998 Z3 has been burning front pads on the passenger side due to a sticking caliper so I replaced both caliper and hose (and both sets of front pads too) which was actually quite simple - at first. I fitted the new hose to the caliper on the bench, fitted the caliper to the car and only then broke the connection at the metal pipe and removed old hose before fitting new one. Seemed very simple and came undone very easily, I only lost three or four drops of fluid overall but system all bled on all four wheels with fresh fluid.
NOW the problem seems to be a slight fluid weep at the top connection between pipe and hose. It cannot tighten any further but seems to have fresh fluid round it after an hour or so - it may just be fluid that has gotten into the cracks and crevices despite repeated flushing with brake cleaner and wiping with a cloth. I don't think I missed anything on refitting, no seals missing or dirt that may have caused any sealing problems but being brakes it worries me.
One thing I've noticed from online videos on the subject (which are ALL poor rubbish) is that the bracket on mine may have the top plate on the bracket fitted sideways; on others it's fitted so that you can see the end of the hose and the pipe joint as you look in, but on mine all you can see is the end of the bracket and what appears to be some kind of green sealant that a PO has added. Which way round is correct? Does it make any difference?

It makes no difference which way that piece is facing. The only thing which can have happened is a piece of grit has got into the joint between the flare on the pipe and the seat in the hose stopping it from sealing properly. OR, it isn't tight enough.

Could be grit in the joint as the others suggest but another possibility is the flared end of the solid pipe may have developed a stress crack when overtightened, best undo the joint and inspect the flared end for damage or distortion. Maybe its in need of a new pipe either all the way back to the engine bay or a shorter section put in with a straight pipe joint.
