Well it's nearly the start of lent, although I have no religious beliefs I tend to try and give something up, so I have been thinking what to give up... In the past I have given up:

  • Facebook
  • Eating bread and crisps
  • Drinking coffee
  • Watching television

So this year I'm going to give up speeding, I think this will be a bit of a challenge as I drive about 700 plus miles a week.

So what are you going to give up?

I'm going to give up going off topic in posts which @Gaz knows will darn near kill me but I'm sure you'll appreciate it! How about a pool to see how many days before I crack! I suggest a £5 buy in with the money going to maintain the forum. I'm betting I will make it through and will send my £5 to @GazHyde once he sends me the address to send it to. So anyone up for it??

Good morning Shelly. Obviously you are not a practising Catholic. Thanks for your support, I'll need some help from everyone posting to " lead me not unto temptation" I guess I'd best get all the bad out before Lent starts!! lol. JIM

Are you sure 'days' is the correct value to go against? I'm thinking minutes may be more appropriate :p

I like the idea, of a proof of will ! I'm searching something...
It could be the challenge to assembly (the 2nd) moped, lying now in parts and needs respray, in 40 days (and nights)!

But you didn't specify how many days! I wasn't being disrespectful with the religion comment, it was in response to your comments on day, year??? Catholics would know about Lent and the length of time, that was all

@Shelly, Lent traditionally follows Shrove Tuesday in many Christian Religions and is known to most as Pancake Day which is the day before Ash Wednesday the official start of Lent and is 40 days before Easter Sunday. So I still have a bit of time to unload 40 days worth of off topic posts. I'm glad to see me Dad has such faith in me and predicts days will turn into minutes. We'll see Dad!! Pick a length of time and send yourself £5. I've been thinking of taking a self imposed break for a bit because of the effects of lack of sun and cabin fever setting in which, as much as I enjoy everyone's tales of driveabouts I find them somewhat depressing at the same time. So what better time to accomplish that and raise a few £'s for upkeep of the forum. So now's your chance to set me up with post to which I can drag you all into off topic or even better the Room of Doom!! JIM

HaHa JIM, so if you do have a self imposed break will it be for 40 days? That way you'll definitely not take anyones thread off topic and also recover from cabin fever.:D:D:D

@Mint, I really don't know how long I'll last could be minutes, hours days or weeks, but the chance to try and raise a few £'s just seems right! We'll see what support there is. So far I'm up to 10£!! JIM
