This is the closest I can get to a photo of what one of my cars looked like as my ex has all the photos and I don't have a scanner anyhow to scan them in. I had a nicer set of wheels on mine to.
The only car I ever gave a name.....The Battle Cruiser.
Wish I still had it......

We used to get a couple of those lumps in for test Mike, but sadly don't see them anymore.

Great looking cars, I've always loved Merc coupes and I've had mine for 11yrs now.

Incidentally they are getting rarer these days with only around 500 or so of the 230ce left in the UK in any of it's guises although there are many more 300ce

@Shelly They aren't as big as you may think. I'm going to clean the Zed and the Merc later today and if I remember I'll take a pic of them side by side

Yep, been to the UK a few times with it as well, a real motorway cruiser.
If I can get the photos from the ex and my scanner, I will post them up one day.

I started off with a 190D then a 190E then the 230CE (bought the wife an A Class) then the last one I had was this one....
C240, could not get on with it, it was boring, the wife drove it more than me, swapped it for the Z.

When I was home from abroad, used to prefer bombing around in my Smart (also a Merc..;))

Cars must be black or silver.......

Jue had a C180 same shape as your C240. Boring is correct mate. Go back 20 years and get a proper merc!

@Shelly

I forgot that I said I'd post a pic so that you could see that the Merc 230ce isn't a big car really and here it is alongside Jill's Polo.

The merc looks lower overall than the Polo. You can keep your new(er) cars!:)

Like the merc coupe. A friend had one a few years ago and the car "handed" you the seatbelt when you got in. Dead cool:)

I have been considering an e39 540i to replace the old volvo. Is there a merc that could be a good alternative? I know very little about the brand. Cheers.

IMHO, Merc lost the plot years ago, but I would say that, being and old git classic car fan.

I would love one of these, a mate of mine had one, a 1990's SL.....
