Just trying to think if I can give you any advice...

I think fundamentally it's the right sort of price. 78k is low mileage in Z3 terms and it's in decent condition.

The only thing I might hesitate over personally is whether the roll hoops are structural or show bars.

But I think your real issue is that a) cars rarely fly off the shelf on the forum anyway and being a 1.9 most people already either have one on here being the entry point engine size or are looking to move up not sideways b) you're in Scotland which is a long way up for the majority of people.

Have you tried Autotrader & Gumtree? If you haven't tried Gumtree you may be surprised at how busy that is for Z3s. Personally I don't rate Ebay for selling vehicles as it seems to attract the timewasters as it gives them something to hide behind.

I brought mine off Pistonheads :D
For some reason I like to think the people browsing there for cars are more of an enthusiast kind than your bog standard autotrader user.

Hi thanks for the help the car is listed on
Auto trader
Gumtree
And the facebook market place
was just opening up again to the form as the condition it's in is far too nice to break for parts

One thing you might want to reflect on is what price would be reached if it went on open auction on ebay. That will tell you what people are willing to pay rather than 'what it's worth'.

Unfortunately there's little in the way of completed open auctions for a car of your age/mileage. Most cars of your age are 120k+ and struggle to reach £1,000. There are 3 cars I found in similar condition/with similar mileage - £1,700, £860 and £1,350. I'd rule out the silly low one - I'd have bought that myself if I'd have noticed it! So on this very small sample £1,695 still looks sensible to me.

If you can afford to wait I think you'll sell it fine in due course - though don't forget we are off season now until March. If you can't wait, well you'll need to look at your options I guess. But I wouldn't look at breaking it. If you do it yourself it's hard work getting your money back. If you sell it to someone on that basis you'd be lucky to see north of half of what you want.
