I’d actually call it an unrealistic guide price. I really have an issue with any type of auction house putting low estimates on to reel people in. Property auctions are the worst. I honestly think there should be legislation to stop it.

Unless there’s a gotcha this is more like a £7-£8k car, maybe more, especially in the hands of a dealer.

Estoril Blue is rare on any Z3. Its even rarer on a 3.0 with relatively few 3.0s ever made.

It’s also quite an oddity as it’s a Sport with another desireable feature - a walnut centre console.

And it has a hard top.

Also this must be one of the last Z3s ever registered. It’s the 3rd Z3 I’ve seen on an 03 plate but this one made it as far as May 03. Which is 16 months after it was made.

I’d be interested to know if there was anything unusual about this car when it was first ordered/sold.

My guess would be a hammer price around £6000 plus the auction house commission on top. Could still be a good buy though.

I think this will be a trade in from one of the dealers, Ill try and remember to look at the sale value after the auction

Please do Brian, See quite a few change hands down this way for that money at BCA. All depends if someone's willing to travel and go through the hassle.

The auction house is out of the way so does not always attract the crowds, I know there is internet bidding but you just never know, it also in their classic auction and not their main auction.

I have seen quite few nice cars @ BCA but as said it is always mid week auctions and internet bidding is only for trade buyers!

The reg number doesn't work on Mot info
Funny that, must be a glitch as The reg is recognised on another of their sites.

Hpi says the number plate is not associated with any vehicle.

I'd imagine it's on a private number and the seller is going to remove it before the sale and has used a pic of the car with the old number.

Very odd though as DVLA say the car is taxed and Mot'd.

Maybe the plate has been changed in the last few days and records haven't updated.

I've looked it up on the Vin, it's an individual model, but could be just down to the veneer console rather than silver.

not necessarily, I sold around 300 pairs of these on ebay last year all around the world, they were particularly popular in Italy with the M// logo. I even sold some AC cobra kit car ones.

and with keeping with the thread it is a nice buy for someone too:thumbsup:maybe worth an extra £2000 just for the seatbelt guides which are in the rarer blue:whistle:

I’ve just seen another genuine 3.0 Sport with a plain black, not brushed aluminium centre console. This one is walnut.

I wonder if this was something that happened with the 3.0s as I’ve never noticed it on a 2.2 before.

According to their buyers guide private bidders can use the 8nternet to bid subject to registering and paying £500 deposit.

I must admit, I’ve never seen this combo before, maybe they had a glut of parts they wanted to get rid of at the end of production ;)

I hope it does go for more than the guide price. Otherwise I've overpaid for mine:(.
I've not seen a walnut dash on a sport before either. Both mine have the brushed aluminium finish.

That one is 6 months before the end of production. My 3.0 Sport was made a few days before the end of production and has aluminium.

But perhaps a shortage of parts at that time? Or of course it could have been changed over by a previous owner.
