Some estate cars are quite nice looking motors. Not too long ago I saw a lovely Viva HC estate, lowered, nice paint and with spaced wheels and it was a real beauty. It was on the M27 in Hampshire so may have been on the way to a show.

I have an estate as my other/tow car, had it since 2007 and now getting rare though not valuable, 1998 Volvo V70R fast, comfortable, love it. Their high maintenance I’ve spent three hours on her this morning replacing both 02 sensors, MAF and various small vac hoses but full boost and mpg back so well pleased.
Here she is hard at work on her new duties

I had the earlier saloon version,in fading red, two points I always recall
1-- I have never had any trouble with cluch wear until the 850R it went through them every 15,000 miles. I had previously got 120k before renewing.
2-- I could never clean the rear inside window
Kept it 2 years and quite enjoyed it,, did about 150k in it

This was prior to finding how enjoyable the e39 was.

Afraid if I now need to tow,I use sons Izuzy DMax it's great, please don't think it's roughing it,it very very specd up,from leather electric seats,GPS,folding mirrors , ect. He has it fitted with the fully adjustable tow bar, raised suspension ,extra lights. It's actually his fifth ,first was 05 registered.

I had a volvo v40 t4 estate that had been uprated with a higher boost and remap that was a true suicide machine especially when the boost came in but very comfy leather seats

I had the S70 with the 2.5t engine. In silver and black leather interior. My mates thought it looked like a funeral directors car. It ended up with name Cyril (H Lovegrove) after a well known local undertakers. It did go well though.

I almost miss it.

I once bought an E36 tourer and at the time it was the worst car I ever owned, I bloody hated it and only kept it a month, that was the only other BMW I have owned other then the Z, I think it only felt so bad as I part exchanged my Mitsubishi FTO, now that was a bloody fantastic and probably the best car I have ever owned
