OK guru's, Bella had not been out for 6/7 weeks, fired her up for a spin last night and this happened :wideyed: Let her idle for 10 mins or so then drove gently for about 15 miles followed by an Italian Tune. Just fired her up, sweet as a nut. Lack of oil at the top end due to being laid up?

TIA

I think you were right about lack of oil in the top end. Probably the oil drained out of the cam followers being laid up for so long. She's not used to that;)

Lesson learnt Dave, I'll fire her up for a while if left standing for long periods.

Fro. What I have heard this is a fairly common complaint and it doesn't really hurt anything. The cure is just to let it warm up and give it revs.

Common mate, my 2.8 does this after a track session. It's just a stuck lifter it will go after a spirited drive.

Yep agree with others my Dakar does same from time to time when cold definitely a hydraulic lifter that's probably got a gummed up making it lazy to fill with oil properly when cold engine.

I did the same with my 2.0 Z3 Andy. Engine flush, new oil and filter, but I also added some Wynns Valve lifter concentrate. Never happened again.

Tony.
