Be careful pal, my daily drive is a 2.2 VectraVauxhall are a tad limited in the handling department compared to Ford, VW etc so no surprise there. Always have been. Fast in a straight line usually but that's about it.

It's a true story mateBe careful pal, my daily drive is a 2.2 Vectra
I think Vauxhall invented under steer mate, its great in a straight line. It's a true story mate
In my impetuos youth I'd go hunting for GTE's in my Fiesta RS Turbo, second best in a straight line but differant story on B roads.I think Vauxhall invented under steer mate, its great in a straight line.
I had a Astra B GTE with a liquid dash and used to rip s*** out of XR3s,In my impetuos youth I'd go hunting for GTE's in my Fiesta RS Turbo, second best in a straight line but differant story on B roads.
Drove one of them (company car) on the autobahn, maxed out at 180 KPH and was all over the place....Be careful pal, my daily drive is a 2.2 Vectra
Ah yeah but that's not a fair fight, the XR was a step down in class. The RS Turbo was its direct competitor.I had a Astra B GTE with a liquid dash and used to rip s*** out of XR3s,
I've never maxed mine but it cruises really well at 95 mph on the motorway, if I run at 70mph I get around 50 mpgDrove one of them (company car) on the autobahn, maxed out at 180 KPH and was all over the place....
Its already been mentioned but since I got the Z every dick on the road seems to challenge me.Ah yeah but that's not a fair fight, the XR was a step down in class. The RS Turbo was its direct competitor.
Me too, just let 'em get on with it in the main, not really interested any more. Its already been mentioned but since I got the Z every dick on the road seems to challenge me.
Worst part is, you max at 180, you have got a big Merc behind you flashing its lights at you.....I've never maxed mine but it cruises really well at 95 mph on the motorway,
What? A Sprinter ........................Worst part is, you max at 180, you have got a big Merc behind you flashing its lights at you.....

There is no need for us to know about your hobby on here Sir.Got a habit of catching pigeons on the motorway. Messy...
This was my 90's ride and it used toI had a Astra B GTE with a liquid dash and used to rip s*** out of XR3s,
AND it used to be quicker than the Astra that i use to have although on paper it wasn't but it defiantly was.used to rip s*** out of XR3
when I was plenty younger I had Opel Vectra 2000 (2000 isn't a year, it was series badge). That was 1992 (or 1993?) Vectra A (known here as Cavalier) with 200Ps turbo engine, 4wd and updated suspension. They only made few thousands of this model, it was something to do with DTM series, they needed a base production model to get DTM opels on competition. I must say it used to drive very well, maybe not that well as same years BMW 3series, but well enough to leave behind any ford on any road And steering was precise too!I think Vauxhall invented under steer mate, its great in a straight line.
We had the Turbo Cavalier here in the UK, I was a young driver in their day and I had a Toyota Corolla GT coupe which was slow in comparison to the Cavalier 4x4 turbo. Had my Corolla tested on a rolling road and it only had 97bhp at the rear wheels.when I was plenty younger I had Opel Vectra 2000 (2000 isn't a year, it was series badge). That was 1992 (or 1993?) XR4I, one of my favourite cars but sadly passed me by. Loved it and the body shell was more unique than the 3 door Cossie as it was a 6 lite as apposed to 4.I have fond memories of my 1983 Cavalier SRi...115 bhp and tyres that were incredibly low profile for the time....195/65 R15. After a few years they brought out the Cavalier SRi130.....fantastic fun. About the only time I can recall Vauxhall truly besting Ford who had the dying Cortina and the new Sierra (before the XR4i)
