A friend of mine has set up a business doing re-maps etc http://www.redhotremaps.co.uk/

At the moment he is only covering the North West but may travel if enough members get together.

He is paying me a commision of £5 for every customer I send to him but I will donate this to the MDNA charity this site is supporting. If mention that "Freds Dad" sent you I can then get the money from Danny.

I'd be happy to watch someone having their car done. I want to put mine on a rolling road first to optimise a standard car. I don't want a remap at this stage.

How much does he charge? Does he do rolling road runs? How much?

I Have been reading some of the virtues of re chippping the Z. I am interested if anyone on here can confirm the virtues of doing it? I am especially interested in mpg improvements as my research is conflicting!

I have had ours remapped by evolve, we are returning around 2 mpg more. The main difference is the responsiveness, also we gained around 5% bhp and torque through the full range of acceleration from start to redline.

Ok, so your experience suggests the engine isn't a million miles away when it left the factory. Obviously the increase in HP and torque are very useful though.

I would also suggest having it done with a company that uses a rolling road as that is the only way you can actually see any gains. It can take sometime to get the set up right as at Evolve they didnt just add the new map run it and call it a day, if they thought the car wasnt performing as it should then they tweeked it to get the best possible figures and i can not see how anyone without a rolling road would be able to tell. They had mine do 4 dyno runs before they worked out any lack of performance around the red line was down to poor fuel.
