Hi all,

my 01 2.2 had an orange engine caption which was reset at a recent MOT. The mechanic couldn’t see a fault and suggested it may have been from a cold weather start or a dodgey sensor (which he offered to disconnect). The caption has come on again however there is still no obvious fault seen or heard.

Has anyone else experienced this and/or can offer advice on sensor disconnection please?

many thanks.

What fault codes are stored for this warning light?

I’m not sure. I assume (due to my limited mechanical ability) I would have to take that into the garage for diognistics?

Not really if you can find a friendly local member who has a code reader. If you were nearer to me I would do it for you. Try asking for anyone local to you. Does it show a warning light “icon” or a written warning, can you upload a picture?

It is just the amber engine light, no other symptoms. I’m in North Hampshire, am I right in thinking the Z shed is in Newbury? (20 mins away). Which code reader do you have? Are they expensive?
thanks.

Code readers vary in price. Mine is a Foxwell NT 530 which can vary between £175 x £199. Try sending a PM to Lee at Zedshed HQ and see if he can help out with a code read.

Tony.
