Had a ride over to see our tame m.o.t tester this morning ( @t-tony ) as my zed was due for it's test.
I knew the rear tyres had worn on the inside edge as they do and Tony had recommended swapping them round on the rims to prolong the service life last time we met.
But when Tony inspected them today they were past it,with the thread material showing on the near side tyre.
I felt a tad embarrassed that I hadn't noticed this :shy:.

Here's the main man hard at it.....

Everything else though was all ok and the emissions were very good :).
I must say this is probably the first time I've seen an m.o.t carried out and was surprised how much there is to it so I'll never moan about how much it costs again, infact for what go's into it you'd think it would cost more than it does.
Any way another visit over there next Saturday for new tyres and a retest should see it all sorted for another 12 months.
Thanks for making a thorough job of it Tony .

Bloody hell your tyres must have been bad.
But fair play I take my hat off to you for your honesty by posting it on here.
Any ideas as to which make and model of tyre your going for.

Going for Hankook Steve as I have them on the front and are very grippy with loads of feed back through the steering.
The present ones are Accelera and are quite good for unexpected side ways action .

Embarrassing fails? I had a Mk II 1600 Sport Escort in Signal Orange when I was lad. It had faded a little and did look a bit off colour if still a smart car.

The MOT tester put it down as pink and said he was failing it on the awful colour alone... it did need some welding too ;)

Andy, all the Z3's suffer from negative camber on the rear and this does affect tyre life. To be fair Steve has had good mileage out of a pair of cheaper end of the range budget tyres. If we had turned them on the rims 5,000 miles ago they would have passed today. However the n/s/r one had only 2.6mm left on the outer edge anyway so was ready for changing.

Tony.

ps. I was more surprised that his o/s/r side light was out =))=))

No Brian, I'd have to give the big lad a pass on that. I was just happy to see excellent brake test results!

It was no where near as bad as the ones I've posted on here Steve only in two well seperate spots was a little split about 4-5mm long through the last bit of rubber.
