Has anyone retro fitted electric roof & or air conditioning to their Z3 . Im looking for advice and how easy it would be . Im guessing the electric roof is straight forward enough but air conditioning would ne more complicated if anyone has posted a step by step guide it wouls be most helpful

£150 ish should see you with the parts for the roof ...there's a thread on here how to do it.....don't see AC being worth the trouble to be fair but good luck with it .

Power roof. I got one from @spurs fan in a coupe
He supplied everything including the chunk of metal with bracket to weld into the wheelarch. I'm well chuffed. (You could screw bracket in. Most do. But I have mig just looking for an excuse)

As for air con. Retro fitting an OEM system is likely more work than you might imagine. Ton of stuff would need swapping out. There are after market kits that make it easier but not cheap. I had a merc once with an aftermarket AC and it was pretty cool in there. So they do work.

Dont bother with ac. Fit the power roof. Put the roof down. Fresh air is free.

I used to retro-fit a/c in cars for a living many moons ago. I don't do it anymore....what does that tell you? ;)

Don't see the point of a semi automatic roof personally. Manual is quicker and less to go wrong! :)

My z3 is the basic-est of the basic models. No bum warmers, no ac, no nothing. My centre console is awash with those little plastic blanking plates. I got the power roof just so I could get rid of one of them blanking plates.

Sorry!! No space for a auto roof switch in any case.
