After a potentially disastrous start to the morning with the boss asking if I wanted to accompany her to the local German supermarket I managed to get out for an impromptu run in the sun.
I never did respond to said offer I think she could see in my eyes that I was hoping for a slightly different German themed activity day - so that was it she didn't say I couldn't go so I grabbed the keys and made a dash for it
Next thing I know I'm driving towards Edale, with nobody but Rod Stewart for company and a plan to stop in the usual layby as I approach Mam Tor to admire the views.
Pulled out of there with the idea of driving towards Monsal Head and stopping along the way for a refreshing beverage - so I ended up in the Red Lion
Finally back home via Great Longstone & Hathersage.
Now that's got to be better than pacing up and down the middle aisle and coming away with something I never wanted or would ever have used
