Hahaha, just put in one of my previous company cars... Surprisingly it made it from 102k miles to this before it obviously went to the scrappy...

Appreciate this is not soley for Z owners and apologise if it has already been posted - but is a useful checker to find the MOT history of any car just using the registration number and make of vehicle.

Thanks @billysally208 that's really useful. I've already got a great service history but this brings even more info on what happened to my zed before I owned it.....

Pleased you find it useful - I think if a car has failed an MOT or even had an advisory that doesn't show up on the test the following year - it is reasonably safe to assume the work was done. It also gives an indication of it's true mileage (from 2012 on)

mine failed on emissions and drivers side lower arm (2 years ago) i swapped the arm and too it back, they never mentioned the emissions failure and handed me my mot, interestingly the emissions don't show on my history. i changed the cam sensor for the next mot and all was fine. my inpa showed a phasing error, my assumption on the cam sensor was correct as the error has now gone.

You would like to think so but unfortunately it always follow, you need to check. What one tester thinks is worth advising another may well not, and vice versa. It's all down to personal opinions.

I fully agree with you Tony and wasn't trying to suggest it was a definate indication the work had been done as far as the advisories are concerned but it does give you a bit of a heads up where to look if you buy a car with recent ones on the MOT certificate - I suppose it's a bit more of a cert if the records show a fail and then a retest a couple of days later with a pass, but again no guarentees.
Can I ask you - as an examiner - do you look at the MOT history prior to carrying out the test, and would you give any special attention to previous advisory items that were found - just curious!
