Hello - I just have a question and I am not certain which forum I should place it in, and it's not very technical, at least I don't think. I am new to ownership, and the first thing my 2015 Z4 is showing me it wants is replacement of the rubber door seals. The driver side has a good size tear and they generally seem dried out. Not sure what the technical name is, but these are the things that you have to be careful not to drag your shoes across as you get out, as it seems they tear just about at that point where one turns to leave the car. I wouldn't attempt to replace these on my own. What I am wondering is this - when these are replaced, is it just the rubber part that gets replaced, or does one have to replace other parts along with it?

Thanks!

You can revive the rubber parts with Gummi Plegge.

:welcome:

To view parts put your VIN into this site https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select and scroll through various headings. Rubber seals will be under Vehicle trim.

To keep rubber seals supple apply Gumi Pflege a few times a year. If you Google Gumi Pflege you will find it on Amazon, Ebay etc.

Edit - @JackRatt beat me to it on Gumi Pflege

In general rubber door seals are easy enough to replace. They fit on a lip around the door aperture, you lever the old one of at a point where you can get access (being careful not to damage the paint) and pull it off. You need a wood or rubber mallet to tap the new one down onto the body lip.
