We seem to have a lot of members in the Derbys, Notts, Lincs and Yorks area who spend a lot of time maintaining their cars, but when Events are on we don't see them. Just wondered why people don't feel like bringing their 'toys' out. I regularly drive out around the Peak District (yesterday and today) and I can't remember the last time I saw a Z3 on the road. There's a show at Retford 8th Sept and one at Thoresby Hall 29th Sept, why not have a drive out and show us your pride and joy?

Only seen 1 Z since we got here, (well in all openness) Shirl spotted a white (with no red) E89, when fetching her early morning Starbucks coffee yesterday.

Z3s are quietly rotting away so you’ll see less and less. Especially with MOT testers poking holes where there is no need.

I thought I saw one driving near Arundel last weekend (failing eyesight) cheerily waved and then as it neared to my HORROR realised it was a Eunos.

PS They did wave back.

Saw a few last weekend up in Scotland on Stevos run;). I've only seen the odd one on my travels round the Peaks this year.

As a contrast there are literally 10s of E89s near me, so much so I don’t wave anymore. Saw a lovely burnt orange colour one today. Z3 I see at least one or 2 a week ..usually the same ones, but they are being used regularly. E86s seem quite common too..E85s on the other hand I’ve not seen one in six months.(other than at the shed but that doesn’t count)

Around Lincoln I would certainly say the most numerous Z is the E85 Z4, and one less grey one since I sold mine.;)=))

Quite a few Z3’s round my way, mostly weekend cars. Came across another one last night.

Also quite a few E89’s, but they are mostly still used as daily drivers.

i'm game for the Thoresby Hall one on 29/09 but I'm on my holibobs on the 8th.

Funnily enough I used to live 5 mins from Thoresby and work in Retford.

It's on the Events section John, Notts Car Show. We usually have a joint BMW CC, Zroadster group together so it's useful to know how many to expect.

Don't mind the shows (did Zedfest the other week) but must admit the most enjoyable part for me is the drive there and back. Once there I usually find myself bored after about an hour of walking round and want to bugger off. Think that's why I prefer the organised runs out rather than the shows

Me too Garrie, but there aren't road trips all the time so a run out to a show is just another chance for a drive and natter with fellow enthusiasts. As you say, you don't have to stay all day. I'm often out around the Peak, did two different routes over the Peak on Tuesday when visiting my sister who lives near Whaley Bridge, saw one black E85 near Eyam. Out all day yesterday saw one black E89 . I do see a lot of Z3s and 4s parked on drives which never seem to move.😟

Yes agree!...I did go on a group run once when I had a black Z3M...its all a bit of a dream now, it was called the Mad Cow Run through the New Forrest and ended up at Beaulieu Motor Museum, must have been around 20 Z3's...and we had lunch somewhere in the New Forrest, twas around 2001 or 2...I'd be surprised if anyone here was on it!...but it was great! (or maybe I dreamt it, not 100% sure)

I just found 3 more Zeds local to me.

I spotted this z4 in Midhurst Sainsbury’s car park today, chatted to the owner who said that his son has both a Z3 and a Z4!
a 3 Zed family!

I know of 2 other Z4s and another Z3 seen regularly round here…
plus the Impala Brown Z3 for sale spotted in a previous post.

I saw a blue (still can't tell the difference between Topaz and Montreal) Z3 in Matlock yesterday. I'd have waved but I was on foot waiting for the tyre shop to finish putting some lovely new rubber on mine
