I've been asked a few times since the upgrade about how to make donations. I've enabled a donate option at various points throughout the forum, primarily you will see a main menu option.

Clicking on this will take you to a monthly 'campaign' I've put together for an estimate of our running costs. This will reset monthly whether we hit the goal or not.

When you click Donate you fill out as appropriate and then you will be passed over to PayPal. On completion of the donation you'll be returned to the forum. Consider the options on this box carefully IF you want your donation to be anonymous!

If you don't click anonymous then your forum name will be added to the wall, and a running total displayed on your profile page and in the global alerts.

On your first donation you will not only get the satisfaction of helping keep the forum running, but you can also flex with a "Supporter" badge on your profile

Not at the moment, but I'm just reading the instructions on a donation add-on which I may install in a few minutes. I does allow a you to see who has donated, bear with me and I'll be back in 30 mins...

EDIT: Never mind, installed it and it needs more brain power than I can provide on a Sunday afternoon. I'll have another look in the week...

Ah, my bad on this. Out the box it doesn't allow you to do the same thing multiple times - I've tidied up the wording for now. Think I may have a way around this, bear with me!

I've now got the Donations functionality enabled, which is documented in the first post.

There is an arbitrary £50 monthly goal, I'm guessing it costs around £600 for licenses, support & sundries per year. There are other costs of course, and I may revise the target once I've had chance to go back through the recent PP transactions. The recent forum upgrade worked out at around £700 but that was an exceptional cost and not one we would do often. Should we need to I can run a separate donation campaign for that sort of thing.

I believe that I've also fixed the Support tag appearing automatically after the first donation, but let me know if you still don't have yours.

As always happy to take comments/feedback on the process. I really appreciate you all for what you do to help keep the cogs turning around here

With all that in mind, if you've made a donation in the last week and you'd like me to add you to the current campaign just let me know!

Hi all,

I'm seeing the occasional hiccup with the donation system where PayPal doesn't send the notification to the forum system, so the Supporter tag doesn't get enabled. If you have made a donation recently and it's not showing then send me a message and manually fix it.

Just so you know I paid via Paypal and everything went ok, I even got my supporters badge after an hour or so.
