Disconnecting 3 series battery

Hi folks, I shall be leaving my 3 series for several weeks and wondered if its worth disconnecting negative lead....anyone done this, any issues or problems or better ideas...cheers

Be prepared for faults to show up on the computer. I disconnect mine and get the transmission fault wheel cog every time I reconnect it. It goes into 3rd and Reverse only.

If it's secure, I'd be more tempted to connect a trickle charger.

Didn't think about this before but, now you mention it... I reconnected the negative lead after 5 months winter storage on my E46 M3 and the ABS lights and engine management lights are on, I thought it was a wheel speed sensor.. But could be a gremlin?
