Hey everyone - well, the refurb work on my rear subframe is nearly complete and I am starting to move into the rebuild phase, finally.

Having cleaned up the differential I want to replace the output drive flange seals.

Can someone assist me please in how far in they should be seated? I noted on removal that the metal lip on the seal that sits inside the flange half covers the hole that allows oil through to lubricate the bearings. Is that correct or should more of the hole be exposed?

Well, in the end i answered my own question. For anyone undertaking the same work, note, the hole for the flange should be completely exposed. The metal rim of the seal should just touch the edge of the hole.
