Spotted and carded this Z3
WP_20181231_001.jpg

Then the owner came out and caught me.
The cars name is Betty, and the owner is Liz.
Unfortunately someone has hit the rear bumper and driven off. But after a quick look may be just the rear n/s bracket and a clip.
I am sure someone on the forum, and that lives in Bognor will sort it out for a potential new forum member

Been round today to have a better look and have arranged to get it sorted next week.
Noticed there are a few cosmetic things to be sorted but car is in good condition.
And the owners pride and joy.

The South Coast Zed Lean-to has its first job =))

Still got these to fit...red footwell leds

But too cold in the garage so working on the toolrack indoors.

Brain is completely addled trying to work out angles and spacings......:arghh:

Also waiting for a digital vernier to be delivered so I can measure with a bit more acuracy.

But my new bench drill turned up today so put that together and put it outside, but need to work out best positions for it and the grinder before drilling holes for hold down bolts.

Had the Blue Z3 called Betty in the ‘Lean-to’ today to sort out the rear bumper.

The problem....
7B4E3738-A48C-47D4-8C71-DD91646D5D07.jpeg

Took the rear arch cover off and found the cause
A057A210-6E27-4A3E-B269-521BA53FCB5C.jpeg

The bracket had been pushed forward, broken the washer part of the two nuts and ended up jammed against the studs.
Sprayed the bracket with WD40 to make it easier to remove, then refitted it with new nuts ( which luckily I had a pack of] and replaced the top fixing which has also been snapped.
All realigned, put the arch cover back and job done

The ‘ Lean-to ‘ has a long way to go before it will be classed as a Zedshed, but its made a start =))

Hi Lee, I just copied the way it was from the picture on flea-bay where I bought it.
I’m sure Ive seen other cars with fixed behind the roll bars.

Should it be on the other side of the roll bars then ???? Easy enough to swap over......

Mines on the back of the hoops and I see it as being the right way. Turbulence in the cab swirls behind the seats and blows into the cockpit. The wind deflector is effectively pushed onto the hops and held securely. If the deflector is in front of the hoops, the turbulence effectively tries to push it off.
Main reason though is that I can't open the cubby box if the deflector is on the front without modifying the deflector.

I think it is designed to go on the front side but mine is on the back side for the same reason. I am planning to make one with the bit between the hoops angled to allow the box to open.
