I'm confused. I thought the Dakar Yellow was a special edition. I normally pick it out from the standard seats with yellow piping.

These cars have standard black Sport seats.

Are they Dakar Yellow special edition. Or just tandard 2.2 Sports in Dakar Yellow?

Or have I misunderstood and there is only 1 type of Z3 in Dakar Yellow? With different types of seat, as indeed a regular colour would have.

Hi ya @mrscalex there are individual Dakars but you could choose Dakar as a standard colour so yes they did come with sports seats

Dakar yellow is originally an 'm' series colour.
In the z3 as far as i know came in 4 models

(2) The Dakar sport models came in 2.2 ( @TWO and @Ragtop ) and the rarer 3.0 (@Brian H ) equipment same as rest sport models
(3) The pre face-lift factory 'Dakar' individual model available 1.9 and 2.8 never seen one

(4) Customer specced individual models
(Built to order cars ) thats whats mine is .
On my inner wing on the n/s i have the individual model plate with dakar on it .
I assume the factory dakar also has it .
The m and sport dont have it.

This was zedfest 2016 from left to right

@Brian H have just been discussing buying a Dakar Yellow 3.0 Sport with my other half. So if you're thinking of selling then please let me know Dakar Yellow is my favourite colour and I aspire to a 3.0 Sport as an M is never likely to be on the cards for me.

I don't tend to make any postings at the moment as I've nothing to report while the Zed is 'banged up'............its like going to the pub without drinking so I keep walking past

One comment I will make though..........I totally agree with you about the missing three Dakar's in the calendar ........a very rare site, as you know.

April onwards; we will have to try and make it 4 off minimum.........that may carry the vote

I saw the ad for the £2750 Dakar last weekend @BMBabe, it was a bit leggy on the mileage, and so wasn't for me. But I was chatting to a good friend of mine in Germany who has a good taste for Zeds, and he asked me to find out more.
After the usual questions we arrived at a selling price of £2200, and so went up a bought it yesterday! It drove back to Weybridge quite well, its had recent new brakes all round and bushes, its nowhere near as fresh feeling as my 37k car, but at the same time felt a lot better than many 90k cars I've driven!
Faults were that it has the usual bit of rust at both ends of the cills, hole in the drivers bolster, and drivers mirror needs the whole unit replacing (anyone have any spares?}
So it will be off for a new life in Germany any day now, but it will have a good future!
