Thanks folks!!!

That's a foot and a couple more inches nearer the grave, but the consolation is that I'm younger today than I ever will be again!!!

BTW Mouldy, how's the Crossfire running?
Hi there Hard Top. Its running really well. Still loving the exhaust note on the odd occasion that I can prise the keys from the wife and get to drive it. The best thing is that she enjoys it as much now as when we first bought it, which ensures a quiet life for me. It also gets a lot of attention, especially when we stop for fuel etc.

I've fitted a wind deflector from King Penn Industries, like this;

Obviously a photo from their website and not of the one on the wife's car. Its probably not to everyones taste, but is suits the car well.

And a gear knob from ICT (Style 2AM41);

Again, possibly not to everyones taste, but it has made a dramatic difference to the feel of the gear shift over the standard knob.

Aside from that, no other mods and no further issues (he says reaching for something made of wood to touch!).

We are off to the Gorge du Tarn in Southern France in a few weeks and taking the Crossfire. I just wish it sipped fuel as economically as the Skoda, which since having new injectors fitted on a recall a few weeks ago, is returning an overall average fuel consumption of over 48mpg.

Overall, the Crossfire is a bit of a 'left field' choice, but to date have no regrets buying it. A sports car it's not, but it is a brilliant cruiser and fits our requirements very well.
