Few years ago, when I was working for a commercial vehicles dealer, with factories in Ankara (Turkey),during an official visit, I met the staff in charge for deliveries. It was a young engineer, maybe same age with my older son; he was very polite and well educated and in the evening, at dinner, we talked about miscellaneous subjects.
At a moment he asked me what kind of music I like. As I was lucky enough to live in the age of rock and roll and progressive rock and psychedelic music, Pink Floyd was in the top five of my favourites. Then he told me that he and his brother were hard core fans of Pink Floyd, having all albums.
And now comes the true story:
When the brother of my friend heard about Dave’s concert in Venice, on August 2006, he tried to get a ticket by all means. But the odds were against and he purchased no ticket. Then he decided to take the plane and fly to Venice hoping he will manage on the spot , for a ticket. Once arrived in Venice the result was the same: no ticket – no access!
Very disappointed , he could barely hear some sounds from the concert and after, he went in a pub to spend the time before he could leave for the airport, for the flight back.
He was sitting in a corner, sad and bitter, when the door opened and he couldn’t believe his eyes: the man printed on his Tshirt was there , with a body guard. Not only he could talk with the wonderful Dave, but he received autograph and pictures together. For the feeling he got you have to see the pictures, no words can describe the joy in his eyes!
So life shows that if you believe in something and never give up, someday your dreams will come true, (sometime when you see no chance)!
