I will have that, please. :x[/quote]
Have had Blackie for 12 years now and I hope to have her for another 12. I have to admit I am as smitten today as I was when I first saw her for sale.
It was quite an interesting story as to how we came to buy both of the Zeds. We lived in Switzerland for many years and when we returned to the UK we bought our two cars back. A 325 Carbrio and a 525 Touring which we had owned from new. Both where left hand drives. One day I took my old Cabrio in for a service and while waiting saw an E34 M touring that was for sale. I had always fancied an M car and that seemed a good solution. Barney Halse of Munich Legends had a different opinion. He felt that my old touring was perfectly adequate and why replace it with just a faster version. If I wanted fun what I should have was a ZM and he had one which had only just come into the country. So the 325 went, Blackie got a new home. Barnie was right and the rest they say is history. My wife always wanted a Z3 since she saw the first one in Switzerland but because of the family we needed a four seater. However, when the M arrived and since the family had flown the nest she let it be known that if Barney saw a Z3 then he should tell her. Surprise, surprise a very low mileage 1.9 auto suddenly appeared. I had been totally out maneuvered. We now had a his and hers
But Hey Ho they were good decisions which have been further reinforced since I finally swapped the old touring for a new one. I am sorry to say that even after a year I still prefer the older estate to the new one. Don't get me started on that since I will really turn into a grumpy old git.
