I changed the front brake pads on our iX35 this morning as it was mentioned on the 30,000 service they were getting low and I wouldn't pay the £100+ for them to do it. I can honestly say it was a pleasure to work on a vehicle which is 2 1/2 years old and not a single rusty bolt to see. It literally took me 5 mins each side once the wheel was off the floor. Easy peasy, I wish jobs on the Zed were as simple.

Had a similar job on a 5 year old CR-V today Dave. Nice to see you're keeping your hand in mate, when you going to start training the apprentice? ;)

Oi I'm here! And I'll have you know I changed the starter motor today on Jues freelander, she came home twice this week saying she'd had to hit it with the hammer I supplied her with a year ago so thought it was time!!! Only took me an hour and I had to remove the airbox first. :D

Er nope! It's getting flogged on and if the clutch goes I'll just scrap it!

I'm OK if I don't have to do too much scrabbling about on the floor under the car. Oh for a lift and a warm workshop:)
