My next visit was to Rev's (Nick's) castle er..I mean house. I truly enjoyed his company and hospitality. It was a pleasure to meet his family who made me feel right at home. My 'agreement' with him was that I would be allowed to take him and his family to dinner. Nick, however, had other plans. He had invited some of the forum members to his house, some of which he had never met, for a BBQ. This allowed me to meet several other forum members in a very casual setting before I would have met them at the Rutland cruise. The dining area was a very spacious room where we were all able to sit together at one large table. I regret not taking some video of the beautiful dinner and settings. One of the guests brought Key Lime Pie, the recipe of which was recently posted on this forum. It was the best I've ever had. Nick cooked several types of meat on the BBQ and we had our pick of what we wanted. His wife made quite a beautiful salad among other items. Just a perfect evening. Met the BadMan, and Mike and Sandy and James among others.
We went to Sandringham House the next day. When pulling out of Nick's driveway and up to the end of the street, Nick is about to make a right to go to the front of his house. I tell him that before making the right turn, it causes me concern about how he is on the left side of the street preparing to make a right to pull into the left lane. I tell him I'm used to pulling into the right lane. HOW SILLY OF ME. I DIDN'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS. The day before, which was the first time he ever set eyes on me, I gave him a perfect example of how I'm used to turning when, after passing his house and turning at the first right, I make a u-turn, go back up to his street and make a left back to his house and he watches as I turn into the wrong lane into oncoming traffic. He already knew what kind of driving I was capable of. After possessing this knowledge, isn't it a wonder he allowed me to follow him in his Z8?
There is a brief video from Sandringham House, After Nick treats me to lunch, I head to East Anglia and the John Barleycorn for dinner with the EAC. Very Enjoyable. I feel right home with everyone. I am treated as 'one of the group'. Feels good, and we have a good time.
The next day, I'm off to Duxford with Mike and Ian who presents me with a "Zroadster" shirt. It is the one I'll wear the next day on the Rutland cruise. There is so much to see. I run out of battery power for the video camera and only have a short piece of the day. That evening, I am treated to dinner by Mark and Mike at an old Pub that is very charming. It is quite a nice dinner and I enjoy the hospitality of my hosts. BMG is not the man we seem to make out to be on the forum. He is quite a gentleman and a very warm person. It was quite a pleasure meeting him. I stay over at his house that night and we head out to the Rutland cruise the next day. In the morning, Mark has a brief example of my driving in the UK and soon after politely asks "would you like me to drive?" when we are both in the same car together, realizing this configuration would give him an infinitely better chance of survival.
The end of this video is the picnic right before we take to the cars for the cruise. I am very much surprised to see Miller 1098 and his wife again as they weren't originally going to go on the cruise. It is wonderful to see him as I thought I would never see him again after I had left his house.
The cruise is on the next clip as it is filmed in its entirety and is quite long. Frankie.

It was lovely to have you to stay Frankie and I'm pleased you enjoyed yourself. It's honestly a shame we didn't have a little longer as there was so much to see.

I didn't hear any profanities in the video and so I presume it was edited!! :)

Truth is it brought the UK guys all together a little more than you'll probably ever realise, so the thanks is really to you for making this happen.

Your generosity of sprit is an inspiration to many of those that met you. Farewell Mr. Frank!

Hope you're well.

:)

I never gave it much thought, but you're right, the language was clean..........and no editing!!!!!!!. Maybe we weren't talking about females of working on our cars or driving in traffic. I was thinking of the notion of everybody coming together in the sense of other forum members being able to see and hear some of the members on video. I was particularly pleased that Gary had some time in the sun. as well as all the others. At least the other members can now put a face and a voice along with a personality to his posts. I think it would be quite impossible to spend an evening drinking with him and not laugh my tail off the whole night as he has such a quick wit. I was a bit surprised with Mike and Sandy. I could listen to Mike talk forever. He is extremely knowledgeable about so many things with the deep smooth voice of a radio announcer. His English accent is what my idea of the perfect English accent I expected to hear. Sandy is such a kind person. I might be older that her but I feel I would want to give her the respect I would my own Mother. I really didn't get to spend much time with you on a one to one basis. You are an interesting person. I never did find out about the dog in the picture when we were talking about woodstoves. Remember?. I will post one final video. It is the end on the series. Frankie

Thank you for your kind words, Frankie, it was a pleasure being in your company and we both agree with Nick that your visit did stir up such interest, that members came together from all over to welcome you and make you feel at home and grew closer because of your presence. In fact one member said that it was the most exciting thing that has happened this year!

On a lighter note, I promise on your next visit, to show you the delights of Cambridge and a little more of the Fens of East Anglia. :)

Take care.

Mike & Sandy

Frankies visit has been, and possibly will be the highlight of the year.

I feel that it has brought this forums members together in a big way.

Its the only one worth viewing in my opinion!

Good old Gaz and the boys for making it great.

Absolutely agree Badman. I think it should become an annual event till Frankie's seen all of the UK.:) I'm really enjoying his video's and have kept them in my YouTube favourites so I can watch them whenever I like.
