Just like to say great day at Beaulieu Vanity BMW on Sunday, nice meeting forum members and putting faces to names. The journey down was horrible, due to a nasty accident on the M25 but such is life, I figured the journey home would be easy, ying/yang thing, just over 5 hours to do 120 miles with various accidents and traffic jams, so wrong there.
Anyway just after Donna and I arrived we spotted @Lee taking his car to get it Carbon Cleaned, so interested we had a wander over to the stand. Lee,s dad was also getting his done and at this point with the price, it looked a good option. The Coupe defiantly seemed improved by this, so Gaz and I decided we would get ours done.
Simple process and today had a scout around the net to find the science behind the cleaning, as you would expect a lot of mixed results and conflicting opinions. There are a few interesting videos of people using a product called SeaFoam and just plain water to do the same job.

With my car the journey home was a shocker so my engine would be running at temperature for a prolonged period of time. This in turn should have helped the process, once free of traffic I did feel the car was more responsive through the rev range. The Z seemed to have improved torque as well, very noticeable between 50-80 in fifth gear.
My exhaust is also noticeably louder possibly due to the cat being de-carboned but again the long journey should have helped that anyway. Tick over was pretty much the same but it is a 4 pot so not the smoothest engine BMW have ever made. As for economy no idea yet so @GazHyde and @Lee what do you reckon, placebo or genuine effect?
