Who are you using and any good?

I've got a a quote from Chris's knotty insurance for £63.00 pa including home start which is not bad I think.

Their site is not taking payments properly so thought I'd check out what others are using in the meantime (I'm talking about a 1998 Z3 here as some places may only cover newer Z's).

I haven't got any cover but if I did I think I'd like to have return the Zed to home rather than to the nearest garage.
Free breakdown cover offered by insurance companies aren't worth anything from reports I've had.
Pay the extra and get the right cover and piece of mind as I will do next year.

The cover I had from Admiral as part of the policy was great.
Choice of recovery to home or garage.
Came out and recovered car when i had a flat and my space saver failed too.
Then came out to my house help me get the wheel nuts off because a garage over tightened them.
Also recovered me to a garage when I had the wiring loom issue.
It was part of the policy but I think was a £90 charge on top.

Best to check the policy wording of any policy - it details it all and limits for how many times per year, recovery options, onward travel, rental car etc.

The Chris knot one is a breakdown only offer. My car is unaired through Manning but they don't have any breakdown policies.

I am with GEM Motoring Assist, £85 for a year, roadside, relay, home start & Euro cover, in any car regardless of age. Auto Express top breakdown service for 6 out of the last 8 years.
Not had to use them yet though .

£90 sounds a good price for all that's included.

I would wholeheartedly endorse Green Flag who I've been with for at least 10 years, but I've never had to call them out... (Touch wood)
I have had green flag in the past and called them out and they where good

I'm with the RAC through our bank and have called them out once. They were good.

When I bought a French daily I decided I needed cover.

Bought through my favourite discovery

Topcashback.com

Never used the rac yet though thankfully

We're with RAC through bank. Have used them a couple of times and they were great, my alternator packed up on the Merc on a trip to Wolves a few years ago. They came out and towed me to Wolves from just outside Bristol. Got a new one from Europarts and fitted it myself and the cars been fine since.
Never needed assistance with the Zed

I thought when we spoke you said you didn't, I must have been mistaken. Thinking about it now I think I said I'd look at breakdown cover separately at later date and only got round to it now!

I haven't driven outside of East Kent since reinsuring the car whenever we spoke, probably June, m becoming a a Z owner..more tinkering. And less driving, first year I've done so few miles!

Please send me the details of the breakdown cover via my email please.

Thanks.

I use the Chris Knott insurance, well haven't actually claimed yet but have it just in case. Home start, recovery, onward travel, roadside assistance all definitely included. Again its only as good as it proves, which you tend to find out when you claim. Hopefully its something I'll never need.

That's good with Eurocover. Some won't do Euro cover over a certain age.
