Had a busy day today checking brake on daughters TT and my 5 touring and it's wheels

Fronts on the audi are ok but needs some new rear pads but need to borrow my friends windback tool for them when I get the pads.

Only got as far as the fronts on mine as once the wheels were off I decided to clean out the arch liners after a busy winter and the wheels were a mess.

Washed the fronts and even after the wheel cleaner there was loads of black brake bits on the inside. Used an old clay bar to get these off, must have been brake bit as the residue was rusty brown colour. I think they came up quite well so a good coat of wax should stay good enough till summer.

TT brakes.

5 series brake I forgot how big these calipers are.

@Grumpy yes I used one of the old clay bars I have it got rid of the last bits of brake residue that the wheel cleaner wouldn't get off. Look nearly new again and 5 1/2 years old now.

Not thought about using clay on the wheels Brian. Good tip that, I'll have a go when I take them off to paint the calipers.

You will scratch them on a hard floor.

He's got them face down on the floor.

If you notice on mine there are a few dots on the inside of the rim and these are from when the main dealers changed the tyres , marks from the clamps.
