As per title I'm looking for a boot light for a 2003 Z4 complete with connector plug and a few inches of the wires attached please. Can get a new one for £14, I don't want to pay that much.

Yes Gaz, finally a sensible answer,, when we got hone from the Christening on Sunday evening it was dark and as I popped the boot lid, hey presto no light! f***ing cheap piece of crap I exclaimed, 
no boot light, anyway having a better look this lunchtime I discovered there was one but it had no bulb fitted. I popped a bulb in and did the video test to make sure the light was going out. OK.
But it's crammed into the back right corner and I thought a simple mod would be to fit one on the opposite side. So that's why I'm looking for one, I can get one from Soper's in a week as there's no stock in the country and it's close to £14. I will need the connector too (tiny pins) preferably with a short piece of loom attached.

So, following on from this I'm wondering if the Z4 has canbus system to tell you when a bulb is out? The reason I ask is because with no bulb in the boot light I'm thinking the car should've told me it wasn't working? If there's no canbus it makes my planned lighting upgrades so much simpler.

I dont think accesory lights are covered by the canbus system, only main driving lights / indicators etc
That same thought had crossed my mind Tim. So I put some LED 501's in both the number plate lights this afternoon with no issues so I don't think it has Canbus
