Hi everyone.... I'm fairly new to this forum, but have been a member on another forum for some while. As a result of finding small "issues" and upgrades which I wanted sorting on my Z3 I have several mods and upgrades which I have developed over the past couple of years.

Southernboy's BMW Z3 Modification Product Page Link

There is a really effective seat belt guide fix which firstly prevents the guide from ever breaking and if already broken, will rigidly hold it in the correct position negating the need to replace it. I also have made clear headlight indicator lenses to replace the amber OEM fittings. The lenses I supply are exactly as per the OEM units including the 2 clips required that hold it in the correct position. Then there is the seat lift mod I have developed which is specifically for the Z3. It has the correct shape to fit into the floor and for the seat slide to fit into it. This cancells any possible lateral slip at the mating surfaces when bolted down, making it as safe as the OEM fastening.

Lastly I have 2 options for center armrest fitting. I have an armrest which can be fitted to the BMW center storage / cup holder and one which doesn't require the OEM cup holder, but which still provides a cup holder that folds away under the padded armrest.

It is important to note that none of these mods requires any alteration to the OEM status of your car, and only the seat belt guide fix requires a small drill for the special plastic thread forming screws which hold the fitting to the guide. All these items are top quality and the finishes are real leather, anodised aluminium, EN8 steel and acrylic. I have strived to produce products that will provide excellent fit, easy for the average DIY Z3 owner and durability, whilst offering them at a price which makes them affordable and less expensive than alternate options. All the items I have come with detailed fitting instructions and where needed I have included pics to assist my written guide.

As an example. The seat belt guides cost around £ 28 each and require considerable effort in replacement - seat removal / upholstery removal etc.. My fix costs £ 25 for both seat guides, and permanently maintains the integrity of the guides.

I think you have a fair idea now that my effort has been directed at offering Z3 owners the opportunity to improve the aesthetics, comfort and drive-ability of their cars at realistic cost.

I'm hoping that some of you will take up some of these items which will go towards amortising the outlay I have made in molds, machining, design and research to gather all the required parts etc.

Gary has kindly provided a link to these items so that I don't have to duplicate pics / details etc etc.

I would like to welcome @Southernboy to the forum (although he has been a member for a while), and I'm hoping his products prove useful to the members on here. I certainly know a few people on here have his armrest, and the seat belt guide modifications.

It looks to be a good selection of products addressing some of the irritations associated with BMW Z3 ownership!

Finally I would like to point out that zroadster.org have no affiliation with Southernboy, and all questions and communication should be done directly with him. We are allowing him to sell his products here for the benefit of the members.

Welcome SB, from Bonzo and Zelda. :drinks: Cor, this lot are really rude to one another, they have me in tears most nights, not like those sensitive, caring folks on .net :angelic:

Hey Barry,

Good to see you over here, for what it is worth, I've dealt with @Southernboy for a few years now and he is a credit to the Z3 scene.

I've never read a bad word about any of the products he has had fabricated to meet the needs of our great cars.

Welcome on board mate.

Hiya Barry and welcome from Lincoln UK. I have one of your armrests fitted in my car, fitted earlier this year, along with my own footrest pedal mod these are the two best mods I've done this year.

Well...Hi to you down there buddy !! Nice to find you here...How you doing with the manual I sent you?
Hi Barry, very well thanks, it is useful and much appreciated. I am planning on removing the dash this coming weekend and I will cetainly let you know about the experience!

I have a leaking power steering component so after cleaning up to identify where the problem stems from the manual will be consulted oce again. :)

Take care.
