Bmw z3 glove box will not lock.

Hi folks

Quick question. Been trying to lock the glove box on my z3. It will open and close with no issues, however when I put the key into the lock, she won't turn either direction. Any suggestions / help

Is there any chance it could be a replacement glove box and the lock barrel is for a different key?

Possibly? Only owned her since end of June, so anything is possible....

Yes, 2 door and 2 ignition keys..Tried all 4 but no joy
