Any recommendations for a BMW garage for an oil change to keep the service book stamped? BMW Heathrow want £350 for an oil change with filter and micro filter which a bit of a rip off.

So am I, I was expecting 90-150 tops. I was only doing it for the stamp. I've already got oil spark plugs and an oil filter at home. Maybe the micro filter is £200 lol

Usually they top up the washer bottle with unicorn tears, quite pricey I hear. I suspect sopers Lincoln are not quite that expensive

You can buy a service pack from BMW and get your local garage to service the car for you with BMW parts. With my Z3 got a Groupon deal for £42 for full service and with the Halford's deal changed the plugs just after. The question you have to ask yourself is does it increase the car's value to have main dealer service only?

Also by micro filter do they mean cabin filter as nothing else comes up when I google it.

Just spoke to BMW Watford £189 for oil and oil filter. How can heathrow justify £350 just because they do the microfilter as well which is a 10min job at best, presuming it's the cabin micro filter.

BMW value service quote of £192 inc vat (on web site) for my 2.2 that even includes exterior and interior "cleaning". So not sure how price can vary so much. The Inspection 1 which includes micro filter is quoted at £271 and includes most checks you do on a Sunday morning.

They said it's a 90min while you wait service which includes a clean inside and out. Will change the spark plugs one I get it back home. Hopefully I won't have to take the strut brace off to do that

I don't think it is worth paying that kind of money for a stamp which doesn't mean much. Main dealer servicing is overrated, I gave up using them as soon as the warranty ran out. They don't even drain the oil from below but suck it out through the dipstick tube.

N52 engine doesn't have a dip stick so they will have to drain it.

I forgot, that is another retrograde step in the name of progress. I am happy with the M54.

There's a button on the dash and it displays if your level is ok or not.

Just had an oil service on my 3.0ltr Z4 this week at H &C Indy in Maidstone £150 (that part of my bill..!) Oil filter but not the micro filter. If you go on the BMW website I believe their price was £189.00 anywhere so ... that's except Heathrow then...

That's got to be a mistake. I was in my local dealer today and they have a poster for oil changes on a e46 M3 for £189.00.
Maybe they meant inspection 1?
Or just premium price because they near a big airport :)

I'm thinking they just didn't want to do the oil change only so priced for the inspection 1.
