Cars short of the zs which im fond of ,i find german cars boring, and clinical.I never owned an audi, vw, or bmw saloon car, even audis attempt at a sports car i forget its actual name i find an awful shape ,and not inspiring at all.Where bmws have become interesting to me is with the z3,4 and 8.All cars have stunning shapes, and presence. Im due a new citreon c4 ,a car and shape new to the market, and it looks stunning, quirky, and is getting great write ups from most motoring journos.I like forward thinking design, and Citreon are always pushing that. They have a bespoke suspension which as i own a mk2 cactus is great. Also i would not own a ford ,skoda ect.So its french, or italian for me.Interested to know if you agree, or disagree?.

Ford for me from main stream cars. My experience over the years with the Ford range is that they are drivers cars first and foremost. The only exception would be the VW Golf, a nice looking, driving car with a solid feel to it.

Yes agreed great driving /handling cars the ford, and v.w. Mine the Citreon isnt the best handling car in the world, but i bought it for a comfy ride, and mostly quirky design. The citreon Ami is a tiny car that citreon has produced which shows its pushing ideas, and designs that the other car makers simply dont, unless you know different?

Sold Fords for 13 years, had lots of different makes including Citroen, Renault and Peugeot as well as Volvo, Jaguar, Nissan, Honda and Ford.
Now firmly in the BMW camp on my sixth currently a 320 GT and Z4.
Love the quality, driving position and rear wheel drive feel

I have to disagree having owned and driven three different models of Mercedes and three differnt models of BMW including the Z3.

audis attempt at a sports car i forget its actual name i find an awful shape ,and not inspiring at all.
I take it that this would be the Audi TT ?
I was not sure what to make of it up until my brother bought one and I had a chance to drive it.
I was impressed, great car.

Yes i think im going for how a car looks, and feels inside rather than driving exsperience,so i agree maybe on driving exsperience these are great cars.

Generally French cars tend to be at the bottom of reliability lists. I've had a few from new and all had problems.

I agree thats the perception,iv had this mk2 Citreon cactus from 2018,never let me down once, although a great car some of the build quality is questionable.

It's safety and comfort for me. My 4 year old 330GT may look like a family run-around but it's got those qualities in abundance for me.

We've got a Citroen c2 and 2x Peugeot 2008s in the family. Decent cars but the front suspensions wear out woefully early.

Just taken delivery of a Peugeot 508 company car to replace my mk7 Golf.. after a week I wish I had the Golf back.
The last Citroen I had was a Saxo VTS which was a riot to drive but terrible quality.. I enjoyed french cars when I was younger but as I’m getting on through my 30’s I just prefer the feel of a German car.
Horses for courses though

I can only go with 3 years exsperience of the citreon cactus, and it never let me down, build quality dodgy in some areas though.
