I've been working on this 1990 M5 all week, bit of a dog if I'm honest, its having a full paint but not the works, not much of a pic as I took a quick snap whilst I was taking the dash out of my Z today

Cheers pal, I have put pics of the painted bits on my progress thread. didn't have time to take pics as I was removing though, it quite easy, once all the peripherals are out there are only 7 fittings to remove

That shape M5 is a special one, last of the 6cyl M5's and made in time when //M cars were discreet and the aero add ons where proper quality. Check out the 'alloy' which are actually hidden under the covers that are designed to suck in air for cooling.

After this generation the M cars became very plasticky in their add ons to my eye, I rember the first e39 M5 I saw in the flesh, I was certain it was a cheap aftermarket body kit by comparison.

Very elegant car indeed, the 840s; I would include it among the few really cool BMW models! (And they aren't too many: less than the fingers of both hands!)
