SNAP ! That's what I got also when bringing back Dave Hooghey's chipped 2.8 pre facelift from Sunderland, nice steady (boring) trundle down the motorway eaking out the fuel :nailbiting:

Can get figures like that too, sticking to those speeds - have to do it the old way tho, as no fancy scary stuff on board

Had a couple of decent passes but was just soaking up the scenery to be fair.

I drive from here to Abilene Texas, when I was teaching a fencing class there. It was my first long trip after buying the car and I thought the fuel gauge was broken because it had barely moved. I fueled up to make sure I wouldn't run out of gas on the way back and it only took 4.033 gallons. It's 155 miles from my house near Wichita Falls to Abilene, so I got about 38 mpg. Speed limit on the highway is 75 mph, I was probably going closer to 80. I figure that's not bad for a car with 200k miles.

We had a body language and behavioral expert tell us a story about Abilene...

The mom, dad, two kids and the grandparents go to Abilene every summer. The kids hate it, but don't want to upset their folks, so say they love it. The mom and dad hate it, but go because the kids say they love it. The grandparents hate it, but suffer it because it's the only place they get to go as a family. There's a moral there somewhere.

Just thought I'd share that with y'all  .

BTW, I've managed to get the zroadster mpg average back to less than 30mpg by just starting the M =))

How could that possible be accurate? My Z3 tells me it's getting 28.7mpg average, which I thought was not bad for a 3.0.

But, as it can't seem to pass a fuel station without automatically putting on the left indicator (yes, indicators were a factory option), and checking over a period: fuel actually consumed against miles actually covered, it's getting 24mpg....

I know what has caused this, as you age you shrink and therefore your legs are getting shorter.

Maybe move the seat a little closer so you can use the full range of the pedal =))

That's a fact mate, I was 5ft 11 at 17, I'm now 5ft 10 at 59.

There is an adjustment you can make via the test menu in the dash if your MPG reading isn't accurate, here's a process guide.

I'm really sad and keep a spreadsheet of my fuel & mileage and my OBC is pretty spot-on

Before we moved to Abilene, we went to visit our daughter there. I told my wife, after 2 days there I was losing my will to live. Everything was brown. The ground was brown, the sky was brown, the prople were brown, no trees, just mesquite. When we moved there a year later, I told her itvwas very nice of them to have planted all those trees, and cleared the sky just for for us . I don't know where they'd been hiding all the trees, because I swear I must have missed them when we visited. Abilene is okay , if you don't mind having nothing much to do. They do have the best Italian restaurant I've found since I left New York City, though...
